Issue with playing from same router (?)

Postby nau23 » 20 Jan 2017, 00:38

Greetings everyone.

My roommates and me (and some other friends who down live with us) like to play a good game of faf every now and then. We had issues before but were always able to somehow make it work by consulting the wiki or furious refafing.

One day (i guess its some day in september or october.. or maybe even earlier this year, im not exactly sure anymore) we were playing, everything worked fine until after 15 minutes the game crashed. We tried to remake it but couldnt make it work again. We were not able to join the games hosted in the same appartment. When a roommate tries to join me now he gets stuck at the "Connecting..." screen. So we asked a friend to host from outside. We could all join his game and connect to him , but we could not connect to each other. We also tried again on other days to see if it might be an temporary issue. We have all reinstalled our faf client. We also tried downlords fafclient but the problem didn't change.

We play from the same router. We got our ports all set up (everyone his own port) on the router and in the lobby, like described in the wiki. We tried it with Upnp off and on. No one has got tunngle or hamachi or anything on his machine, so those cant interfere as well.

I also want to note that i play random custom games as well and never had any connection issues there.

For a demonstration of the problem i only have a log showing me and one of my roommates to join each other in a game. nau23 is me, raegenhere my roommate.
We cleared our logs before. First he tried to join me 2 times, then i tried to join his game. First try is without upnp, for second and third we turned upnp on (for whatever reason... ;) )

logs nau23:
game: http://pastebin.com/s1XXGZZG
forever: http://pastebin.com/jWxKrizZ

logs raegenhere:
game: http://pastebin.com/rVadvcjY
forever: http://pastebin.com/69Z25nTx

I read there should be also a faforever.log but we both dont have it. If that one is helpful as well i would ask for help finding it.

If this issue is something that might be resolved due to the upcoming server software update i'm also willing to wait. ;)

I'm hoping for your help, as I would love to drop a nuke on my roommates pretty bases again..
