How to know if a connection is made through proxy

Postby Gilobot » 11 Feb 2017, 10:29

Hello.

Lately (since roughly one month ago) I have experience disconnect issues while in game, totally randomly.
Basically when it happens, I lose connection to one player only (out of 7), but the rest is fine.

Also it's always the same very few players with whom this happens. It is also the same few players where refafing is often needed while joining in lobby.

I have been trying to change uPnP on/off settings, but not sure if this has an influence.

How can I check (logs?) if I am connected to the player through proxy or not ?
Is is possible that I seemlessly connect to those players through players (without me knowing) and that somehow the proxy randomly drops the connection in game and never recovers ? (this forces me or the other player to leave)

I've checked the wiki about this, and it looks a bit outdated regarding the logs.

Probably just have to wait until ICE is properly tested and implemented, and hope that it fixes the problem.

Proxy has not been working since last february afaik so if you lose connection to someone it's only your fault because you have not forwarded your ports properly. Also for upnp to work you need to have it enabled on your router although it should be on by default (worth checking).
