Did you set the game path correctly?? It should point to your supreme commander Forged Alliance installation (not to one of the subfolders!!)
You should be able to start the game from C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe. If not, you didnt set the game path to point to the correct folder (most probably).

If that doesnt help: does the file exist? does FAF have read and write permissions for that file?

Thanks for the reply cookie noob. I do not have my Supcom vanilla and Supcom FA installed on the C drive. I have a large 1 terrabyte drive where the game is installed. That would be the D drive & I Have FaF pointing to that drive and the supcom FA main folder but it still wont boot a game...I can start a game fine outside of FAF client...How do I give FAF read & write permissions?

plz post the content of the file
Code: Select all
C:\ProgramData\FAForever\fa_path.lua
here. It should be one line only.
ProgramData is a hidden folder containing all FA related things of FAF. Your game installation can be anywhere, the FAF client has to know about where to look though.

Did you try to start a local FAF game by starting the game from the executable
Code: Select all
C:\ProgramData\FAForever\bin\ForgedAlliance.exe
as I asked you to do?

My bet is on you launching FAF as admin which screwed up permissions for that file. Deleting that file should do the trick. In FAF click on HELP - Show Logs and you should see that file in the folder fa_path.lua. Delete it, restart FAF and try again. You will have to set the path again.
