I wanted to uninstall FAF as I needed to free up as much space as possible to quicken the speed of defragging my hard drive. What I did not expect was for my PC to instantly turn itself off while uninstalling FAF, which lead to leaving half of the files still present and me not able to uninstall the rest of the files as the uninstall.exe was gone. I have manually deleted the rest of the files from the locations where FAF related material was (from what I know), but now have an issue where I am unable to reinstall it as apparently there is a missing "tmpysovyv.msi" network file I need to reinstall the FAF client, which for me should be located in "H:\Users\KoD\Appdata\Local\Temp". I have tried to find this file on Google with no luck and I am not sure if any more similar files are required as this is the first one that says it is missing when trying to install. The only message of use that pops up is "The older version of FAF cannot be removed. Please contact your technical support group", which is what I am doing now.
I could use the alternative Alpha FAF Client made by Downlord, which works perfectly fine, but no offense to him, I really prefer to use the original client.
The only things which is FAF related that I believe are still on my system are replays which I manually placed into a separate folder.
Things I have already tried:
- Uninstall and Reinstall both Supcom and Supcom: Forged Alliance
- Tried to install using older versions of FAF, Earliest version I tried was 0.10.122
- Trying to find the file on other parts of my system. It does not exist.
- Verifying game cache of both Supcom and Supcom: Forged Alliance on Steam
I obviously cannot get any logs as they do not exist on my system. If it is as simple as getting that .msi file then could someone send it over so I can put it back on my system.
If someone can help me on this issue, it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
