Having Performance Problems on Some Maps

Postby CavemanHost » 07 May 2017, 19:05

Hello,

I've recently re-installed windows 10 on my pc and am having some strange performance problems on some maps. I get a lot of micro stutters or whatever they are called. Mainly during zooming. But only on specfic maps. Like wonder 6v6 v2 or Miralce 6v6. I did not have those problems before. All drivers are up-to-date.

This is my System:

Core i5 6500
8gb DDR 4 RAM
GA-150N Phoenix wifi ITX Motherboard
GTX 960 4gb OC MSI
Samsung 850 evo 120 gb
Samsung 750 evo 120 gb
(no RAID)
Windows 10 Home 64 bit
Using latest faf client

Other games are running fine. I'm playing mass effect andromeda at 1080p at almost max settings buttery smooth.
I reinstalled supreme commander via steam to my C Drive, which seemed to help a bit, but not that much.

The problem appears right from the start, though not as annoying. Later in the game the whole sim freezes for a second or two and then proceeds to go on, no one notices it but me. Which is strange.

Anybody had any similiar thing happening to his game?

There are no hints in the logs or anything.
I mainly looking for ways of pin-pointing to the source of the issue, because I'm honestly clueless as to why this happens.

Kind regards,
Chris

I deactivated all the rings, they only appear when I select a single unit. I have capping mexes with assist enabled, but it also was enabled before I reinstalled my system. Had no issues what-so-ever

EDIT: those possibilities also don't explain why I have those problems right from the start, like the second the commander warps in

Also can you post logs, tell us how many GHz your CPU has and how big the load on the CPU is?

In theory any map can have that feature and since i don't know every map on faf (probably more than 7k) i prefer asking.

You say you reinstalled Win10. Does that mean you had Win10 on this exact same rig before and it was fine?

ETA never mind, I see you have made that clear. The stuttering while zooming is interesting... It almost sounds like a texturing/bus bandwidth issue like the good ol AGP days. The 960 should give you no issue however. Does the problem persist on lowest quality settings? Disable stuff like threaded optimization, vsync and so on and see what happens.
