This error means that the FAF client can't write files to ProgramData\FAForever. Normally it should check for that and fix permissions automatically, maybe it somehow didn't. Could you post your faforever.log? You might also check permissions of ProgramData\FAForever by hand. Alternatively, I believe opening FA client as another user then back as your regular user should trigger the permission fix (indicated by a dialog window).

Well, please don't run FAForever as Admin, because you will get exactly this error.

Code: Select all
IOError: [Errno 13] Permission denied: u'C:\\ProgramData\\FAForever\\fa_path.lua'

This happens if you started FAForever as Admin. "fa_path.lua" is saved with admin rights.
If you now try to launch FAForever with normal rights, you don't have permission to change the file.

Reinstalling will not help, if you don't delete the file manualy.

Try this:
1. Deinstall FAForever.
2. Delete the whole 'C:\\ProgramData\\FAForever' folder.
3. Install FAForever

greetings Uveso.

?!? Was there not another answer some minutes before ?

Well, now you have another error.

Code: Select all
EXCEPTION: [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C:\\ProgramData\\FAForever\\bin\\ForgedAlliance.exe'

Now it's the file ForgedAlliance.exe with wrong settings.
