It's been a while now since I haven't been able to install any updates with the update manager, I have to do it manually each time.

It appears to be a problem with your system unfortunately. What happens is that we try to save the installer to a temporary location - we don't do it ourselves, we use Python standard library for it. The library seems to be unable to find any temporary folder where it can save the installer, so it errors out. We can't help you with that beyond suggesting fiddling with permissions of the folders listed here, or googling for problems with NamedTemporaryFile and 'No usable temporary directory found'
