Cannot login, already associated???????

Iam getting the following error:
Your computer is already associated with another FAF account

In order to log in with a new account, you have to link it to steam: link here.

If you need an exception, please contact an admin on the forums.

I already linked to steam but I stil get this error. The error doesn't make sense to me either. This makes it impossible to use FAF so a fix would be nice.

So I understand now that you can only have 1 account per machine..... Seems like a huge sledgehammer was used just to make it harder for ppl to use smurf accounts. I understand you want some extra security but did you really have to go this far????

This is hurting ppl who like me let their friend play once on their PC at some time in the past. On top of that I never play ranked and I only ever play with my friends so I have nothing to do with smurfs in any way. I feel this is a very very bad change as it makes it very hard to just play a faf game with my friends. Why should I be punished because in the past I had a LAN party at home and let a friend use my machine?

I don't care about ranked but please rollback this change for ppl who just wanna play a casual game with their friends. There's no reason to block these ppl from playing. Make this a ranked only thing as that's the only case where this system has any added value.

On top of that the current system is not working properly. Linking your account to steam only works if you login on the site yourself and link to steam. Not when you get this exception and click on the link. At the very least this should get fixed.

you can circumvent the UID check by linking your faf acc to your steam acc (assuming you have a copy of supcom:fa on it)
yeah the issue with the outdated link in the error message is known and someone will have to fix it
