yesterday my FAF kicked the bucket and decided it couldn't connect to players anymore. I tried following the recommended steps (turned off AV, cleared game files reinstalled FAF and restarted computer), but this presented a new problem that my updater wouldn't install the 3689 patch (it would abort installation).
I got around this by downloading the patch through a browser instead of a client. However I still could not connect to players...
I had a chat to PhilipJFry in the client and while he couldn't identify the cause of the issue, he pointed me to the log files that showed an error with my upnp. His advice was to first check that upnp was enabled (It is), and then to recreate the error and send the log files here for review.
I tried once more this morning to clear game files, and luckily enough FAF installed them (although it appeared to downloaded 3689 twice, with the same url?), however this hasn't solved my connection issue.
