I've solved it, but I thought I should make a report. I use a modified version of "textures.nx2" to better see strategic icons on my 4K resolution. What happens is that the client tries to overwrite the file... and hilarity ensues (see below). The solution was to disable "read only" on the file "textures.nx2". Still, why did this problem need to occur? The old client didn't try to force me to play with small icons at all. Well it tried, but failed
