pathfinding

i'm pretty sure that the pathfinding has been changed since gpgnet days - any chance we can revert back to the original pathfinding? having your acu walk forwards when you tell him to go backwards is no fun. the "walk and turn" is not very helpful

ok, watch this replay. around 17:40 i tell my acu to move towards the spider that is attacking us. there is nothing between my acu and the spider. instead of walking towards the spider, he walks sideways, NOT toward the spider. this is what i'm talking about.

i'm not entirely sure it's something that's happened with faf, but i dont recall this happening in gpgnet. (i'm only mentioning this to help with the troubleshooting)

I'm almost 100% certain that it's not related to FAF.
If we were able to alter the pathfinding, that would be a good news actually.

If you really think there is a problem, try reproduce it in sandbox, then try the same in 3599. But I would say that it's god punishing you for playing on that map.

hahaha. God is not punishing me. it happens on every map. have you seriously not had this problem? you tell a unit to go one way, then it goes the OTHER way? (mostly a problem when it's your acu).

i have no clue if it's faf or not - but nonetheless, i think the pathfinding needs serious help. this shouldn't happen.

No, it never happened to me.

Replicated the issue with a simple test, and try it in 3599, you will have your answer and I will have my exemple (I won't watch a 17 min thermo for that :)

ACUs have a turn radius, and they have it since ever. its not a bug its a feature.
