Hey guys, returning to FAF after a while. I updated to regular client to the most recent version and it gives me an error when I try to create a custom match.

I then went to the FAF website and downloaded the latest client, which is the beta client 0.10.6-beta, but I am again receiving an error when trying to create custom match.

I never have had any issues with the FAF client before now. Can someone please check my error code below? Hopefully it's something simple. Thanks!

I have also just tried loading the game directly (bypassing the client) which again, worked before. Now, it lets me create the game (chose map etc) but after the loading screen where I am 'gating in' I then crash to desktop. All of this has started with the recent update.

Thanks.

Sorry I thought what I posted was a log. Please see requested below. I have posted them all to pastebin as the forum said it was too much for this post.

Please let me know if there is anymore information that I need to give.

Thanks.

the game.log file would probably help a lot

but the client log also shows that many maps are missing the scenario.lua files - i recommend you wipe your map folder in
Code: Select all
C:\Users\%Username%\Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games\Supreme Commander Forged Alliance\Maps\
for a start

i also recommend you wipe the entire bin and gamedata folder in
Code: Select all
C:\ProgramData\FAForever\
since the permission error might be related to messed up windows file/folder permissions

UPDATE: I have now managed to get the game working directly (bypassing the client). I did this by disabling all the mods. I then reenabled the ones I wanted and it seems to be playing ok.

However using the FAF client (both stable and beta) continues to crash, which points to the client I would have thought. As these problems only started when I updated the client I would again think this points to the client. Would there be any merit in completely uninstalling the client and installing it again I wonder?

Thanks.

Hey Philip just wanted to say thanks for your help. I now seem to have solved everything I was having issues with. I have removed links to pastebin. This thread can be marked as "resolved" (or deleted) if there is such a function.

Thanks.

I resolved the FAF client problem by running as an Administrator.
