Can't log into FAF

Ever since the switch to the new client I haven't been able to log in, all I get is just past the logging in page. I decided to have another go this morning and deleted everything to do with FAF before reinstalling Downlords client and it's still the same, so I finally decided to post here.

It looks like your computer does not allow the client to access anything in the internet. I would guess you did not allow it in the Windows firewall.

Looking at the logs:
"Could not read remote preferences" means the client was not able to download http://content.faforever.com/dfc-config.json and then it is clearly trying to connect to the right lobby server which fails: Trying to connect to FAF server at lobby.faforever.com:8001 -> Connection timed out: connect

From the log perspective the client behaves correct, but can't do anything network related.

Ok so I allowed the client through the firewall, but how would I go about downloading whatever it is that I wasn't able to download and where would I install it? Or would reinstalling the client work?

The client should do that itself. If you can login now everything should be fine.

Could maybe be caused by Anti-Virus?
