Sound is Choppy

Lately, in game, the audio has been dropping in and out with NO drop in game quality. Generally, on all other computers,0 this happens in the first 5 seconds of starting Supreme Commander (Vanilla, FA, or FAF), but here it persists for a long time ( I usually go insane after 60 seconds of it, and restart). If I restart the game, and/or FAF a few times, the problem generally goes away. Restarting windows has no affect as the first load of FAF causes this problem as well.

Has anyone encountered this? How do I get rid of this?
