Is the downloadable version of FA compatible with FAF?

So I just discovered this wonderful site and I plan on buying FA. I definitely want to have FAF if I buy the game. What I want to know is if the downloadable version on amazon is compatible with FAF. I read that the steam version wasn't completely compatible and I just wanted to confirm this with you guys.

Should be yes.
