Login taking forever

Result
After clearing the FAF cache, logging into FAF takes forever. I am left at the "Logging in..." screen after entering my credentials. Looking at the log file FAF appears to be downloading minimaps at a VERY SLOW rate. So slow that it will take a massive amount of time to login. I have left my 3 ghz quad core @ 30mbit machine running for two days without finishing.

Expected Result
A way to login in a timely fashion with as much being done in the background as possible. Any suggestions?

Misc information

-Our mapset contains every map that we can get our hands on.
-About 30% of the maps in our collection was downloaded from the machine taking forever to login.
-New machines that have never run FAF are able to login instantly.

Solution
This was a terrible problem. Our group of players were completely blocked on this. Being a computer professional, I tried all sorts of things to research a fix to the problem. UltimateIy I found a post that someone made that included a copy of the minimaps in a cache.rar file. Putting them into the cache directory fixed the problem. One thing that makes me nervous is this rar file contained some minimaps I already had, but some of my copies were larger, with the rest of the duplicates being the same size.

Hey Bill, it's still an issue with the currently released version of the lobby.

It should be fixed for our next release, which isn't too far away. Thank you for reporting this!

Thank you for that information! One quick question though. Once the new release is out is there anything I should do to all of our installs to make sure they are in the best possible shape? (We have about 6 people and their machines)
