Dual Screen causing crash

Postby CodingSquirrel » 19 Jan 2015, 19:12

I just crashed while playing a game on Gap of Rohan. The replay on the vault is causing the same crash at the same time. The replay number is 3004845. I normally play the game on two monitors at 1920x1080(60). However, I decided to try it with the second monitor disabled in game. Both windowed and fullscreen works when only playing on one monitor, but when I enable the second then the replay crashes again.

The replay crashes for me at 17:48, right as I kill an Aeon commander with Cybran T2 fighter bombers. I'm aware there are a lot of desyncs, but the issue is reproducible just fine regardless.

I've attached my replay.log below.

I had been playing with only one monitor since my first post. However today I decided to reenable it and I've been crashing in every one of my games today. Not 100% sure if it's because of dual screen or not, but it does seem coincidental. The replay for the first game is 3066615, but didn't reproduce the crash. The second replay was 3066872 but trying to open it crashes the lobby, also it didn't generate a local replay. The third game is 3067148 but also does not reproduce in replay.

I have the log from the third game attached below.

This is a well known problem that has been happening for a long time. It appears to be related to what kind of graphics card/drivers you have. Don't have a solution for it and it's doubtful there will be one.

Edit: found some old threads for you if you want to read through them. You might find something useful

If you have the same res screens you could put FA into windowed mode and drag it across both. Then use the home key to split the screen in half. Your UI will be across both though

Condensed into two lines:
-Full screen dual screen simply does not work
-Windows across two screens works for some

Best: buy 30" 2560x1600  That way you have a useful vertical amount (contrary to the 21:9 junk) and you don't have the scaling issues of the 4K stuff.
