"Logging in..." forever [SOLVED]

Hi tech support,

I began to play FA a few weeks ago, with the FAF Lobby. I had no problems.
The 2 3 last weeks, i was by my girlfriend. I installed everything on her PC and had a lot of fun playing FA online, without any problems (with the same account).
Now I'm back on my PC, and nothing works: I can't even log in the FAF Lobby. I have the small "Connecting..." windows with "Logging in...", and it never ends.
I checked my "forever.log" and saw that he's doing tons of "Searching map preview for: ...."
I disabled my antivirus (Avast) and the Windows firewall (Windows 7), checked my router (port 6112 is still open for my PC IP) and let him do that the whole night. This morning, it was still "Logging in". I checked the log again, the last "Searching map preview for..." was 3 hours before, but he was still trying to log in.
I restarted, he began again with "Searching map preview for...". I stoped it and resintalled the game, the lobby, and i deleted the "C:\ProgramData\FAForever" and "My Documents\My Games\Gas Powered Games" folders => nothing changed.
I created a new account => nothing changed.
I searched on the web and on this forum, i found this:

I downloaded the rar containing all previews ant put them in the "C:\ProgramData\FAForever\cache" folder => nothing changed.
Note:
- My brothers also played FA on my PC, with his own account
- When i type a wrong password, it says "Login not found or password incorrect. They are case sensitive" => account check seems to work
- While he's "Logging in...", the process FAForever.exe uses 13% of my quadcore i7 CPU. For hours. Really?

Hey KyrO,

If you've tried logging into different accounts from the same computer, you will experience this. Make sure to login with the account first used on the machine.

The lobby currently spinlocks during authentication, which is something we're fixing with a future update, sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the answer.
But this is what i am doing, I try to connect with the first FAF account ever used on this PC: mine.
What shall i remove from my machine to completely reset the lobby? A registry key or something?
Because like I said, I reinstalled the lobby (proper uninstall + removed "C:\ProgramData\FAForever") but this doesn't fix it

I regret that you have not been more interested in this issue, despite this I looked on my side and found the solution.

I sniffed the communication of FAF and found that the connection protocol uses a UID to identify the connecting machine. As long as this UID is associated to an account, the server doesn't accept any other account with that same UID (=on the same machine).
The trick is to free the UID by associating the account to another UID, simply by logging into the account on another machine.

Account A log in on machine 1.
Another account cannot log in on Machine 1, because machine 1 is associated with account A.
Account A log in on machine 2 => machine 1 is not anymore associated with account A
Another account can log in on machine 1.

In my case:
- I logged in on my PC.
- I logged in on the PC of my girlfriend
- My brother could log in on my PC
- I could not log in on my PC
- I asked my brother to log in on his laptop
- I could log in on my PC

Finally, it is easy to solve the problem when the process used by FAF is known. Just connect to the last used account on your PC on another PC, then you can log in with any account on your PC again.

Hope this will help other people having the same problem.
