NEED HELP PLZ

Postby yeager » 15 Apr 2015, 03:25

i am not very technolically smart, or good with computers, so forgive me if i am being stupid

about 10 minutes into a game everything starts running at like 1 frame a second, then after a minute or 2 gets better, than does it again, i could be playing 5v5 on gap of rohan or 1v1 on canal, it always happens, is there anything i can do to fix this? all help would be helpful
Update: issue does in fact occur when I play against ai only and is worsening, after I posted this originally it started going grey screen, and today it went blue screen, saying that there was an issue and windows shut down to prevent damage to my computer, it also said that this may be due to improperly installed software. So is there a mod that may cause this, or a map? Of so how do I delet this? Would uninstalling and then re-installing faf and-or supcom entirely help?
New update: went to windowed mode and found that when this occurs it says: display disc has stopped working and then says it is fixed, only to say it has stopped working again a second or so later

Most likely you have a connection problem, or a slow computer.

does it happen every game? if so then that makes it easier to eliminate possibilities

does it happen when you play against AI (no humans)? If yes that rules out connection problems
does it happen when you play with no mods enabled? if yes that rules out mods
does it happen when you play with your webcam unplugged? if yes that rules out webcam

you just need to come up with ideas and test it. like in a 5v5 on rohans there might be tonnes of units so maybe that is the problem. So start an AI only game with 6x6 players. Don't even play. Just crank the speed up to +10 and wait until there is lots of stuff going on. Then bring the speed back down to normal and see if you get your issue.

or find a game when you had this problem then watch the replay. if it doesn't lag then i'd say its connection problem.

A. I do have a lot more mods then when I started although activating them doesn't seem to make a change
B. I don't think its connection cause it only affects me, not sure if it happens against ai, will test
C. It always happens between the 10-20 min mark and this not linked to the size of the game, although does seem to be triggered by acu explosions of other players and movement of my troops, but again doesn't follow any padern I can get into a 200+ add fight and not flinch, then drop to 1 frame a sec when I move my navy of 20 units.
Also, does this have anything to do with my adapter? Should it be the highest setting I options or the lowest?

yes it could be your adapter or a zillion other things. Do the tests I said to rule things out and then we can check other thing.

It's most likely connection or mods.

Otherwise are you running fullscreen? Run in windowed mode = less bugs.

Do other games start to lag a few minutes in as well? If that is the case, your gpu or CPU might be overheating.

Forget about that and do the tests I said. You want help? We are isolating the problem.
