Cant connect to chat or see custom games list [SOLVED]

I started playing FAF fairly recently and there has been an very annoying bug quite often where when I open the lobby, I end up not connecting to chat and the custom games list is missing as well as "most" of the games. The weird part is sometimes the lobby loads fine and I can play like normal. It's pretty random as to when it decides to work or not.

I have tried changing ports, changing compatibility (I'm on windows 7) to vista, reinstalling faf, reinstalling the game. Nothing seems to totally fix the problem, it just sometimes wont work.

I think I have managed to resolve the problem for now, I switch to a wired connection (I had to rearrange my living room to get my computer close to my router ), It looks like everything seems to be functioning normal for now, is there a chance of some packet losses with wi-fi when logging in and screwing everything up?

You're having the same issue as a few other reports with the messages received becoming garbage. It's still unclear what causes this, but thanks for the report.

I played again last night with no issues, logged in fine, connected to chat, no disconnects for like the 3 hours I played. My computer is super old (like 7-8 years) with a PCI-Express Wi-Fi module (it might be a D-link model but I'm not too sure.) I used the drivers that windows installed for me so it may be a driver issue as well. Anyways I'm going to mark it solved unless it acts up again. One thing I forgot to mention is, I have FAF installed on my laptop as well and when I connect through Wi-Fi it works fine, so that leads me to think that it's not really a network issue, probably a client side one.
