Dear FAF creators. This matchmaking is bullcrap. Seriosly. It says it will connect me to ppl of equal skill. Yet, having 0 - -150 ratind I got connected to 600 rating, then 250 rating, then again 600 rating. My question - why the f***? Seriosly. Does it even check the rating? Because if it couldn't find me -200 to 100 opponent it could keep searching, or at least notify me. But it found these games instantly. Why?

Do you even know how fucking stressful i is to play against expirienced cybran players when you have barely any macro? How the hell am I supposed to learn a thing, when I only can barely delay my inevitable loss, just because they instantly dominate the map? The only good game I got in qualification, vs-45 guy. And I barely won against him. So why do I keep getting these 200-600 opponents?

You are free to ban me or delete theme, I don't care. I just vented my rage from this ass-rape lose-streak. Most likely I won't again play FAF, so I don't mind getting banned there either, if my rage here is against some rules.

In your qualification matches you get 3-4 opponents that can range from any rating becouse the sistem is still learning you. So after you play those initial 3-4 matches you should get matched with people within 200 (maybe 300) of your rating. You could also ask a coach to look at the replays of your games with you and help you improve so you could deal with the opponenst easier. When i first got myself a coach i went from 400 on ladder to 600 and then the second time after playing for a few months i asked someone to teach me and got from 600 to 800. I would defenetly reccomend you to ask a coach(they have a whistle avatar in chat) to help you improve. If thats something you dont want than just play 1 or 2 more ladder games and sistem will start matching you with opponents closer to you.

If you're new to FAF, stay away from ladder, and do what greenio said: find a trainer if you want to get better.

I agree with Romual. Most of the times I play multiplayer matches, but sometimes ladder matches. I have a ladder match rating of -95 after 13 games or something like that. Still get matched up with level 300's, and most of the time to get owned. Would appreciate if I would get matched with lower levels, and don't care to wait a bit longer.

@Romual you could host multiplayer games to play 1vs1 so you can decide vs which level players you prefer to play.

i agree as well, i know this was way too long ago for me, but i think it would be nice if new players got a nicer introduction into ladder than losing 10 games - for example:
- matching players with low amount of ladder games (<5 or maybe <10) by using their global rating
- if they have a low amount of global games (<5 again or maybe a different number) then matching them with a similar player (0 ladder 0 global for example)

why like this:
new players play vs new players
some gap pro playing ladder for the first time wont mash new players because he has farmed much global rating from the likes of Gorton Norton

just clearing up some misconception here: although the way matches are being set up is not according to the matchmaker, this is irrelevant because ladder rating, just like global can rate any matches. The matchmaker is not some magic tool to make rating (any more) accurate, and it doesn't.

System may take up to 11 games to find your rating
Not 3-4 ( maybe it is different for different people)

But still that is not a big deal, if you get killed fast at least it was fast then =\

Also on ladder you get to play with people ±300 (or 250 not sure) rating around you

Also you may meet some random guys too because they play their 1rat matches too

there is no good rating system. They all are crap. This game is harder than other RTS. So if you want to play - get trained first. You cant just sit and start playing this game unfortunatly.

.. it really doesn't matter what you start with. I started with ladder.. after 10 games or so I asked a personal trainer (Nombringer) for advice.. and then carried on. It's personal preference.

and you are lucky my second ladder game (me around 40 rating) was against cca 1060 rated player in the worst map in history of ladder (both spawn in lake next to each other...that fu*k map) ...imagine my suprise....
