Be able to build support factories before HQs

I think we should be allowed to upgrade factories before/while building an hq. This would allow you to shift to t2/t3 more fluidly/quickly. Obviously the support factories wouldn't be able to build anything until the HQ is complete.

In my humble 800 rank opinion, I don't think it would break balance too much. It would certainly help me with scrambling enough percivals to fight a Monkeylord rush, or quickly building up mmls to counter turtle. What do you guys think?

I think not, because then you can get super cheap T2 buildpower.

The trouble with that idea is that support factories without an HQ can build t2 engies, so it would give you access to t2 building WAAAAY to early and cheaply.

Also when you step up to t2 units the one factory you have is incredibly valuable and your eco should barely cope with that one factory.

It'd cause confusion for new players and I don't really see it adding any value (besides allowing slower scouting), but just a shortened T1 phase.

A good strategy against Monkeylord rush is building a firebase. As for turtles, well... Get better, shouldn't be a problem once you know how to deal with them. There's a personal trainer team at your service!
