Making download map/mod non modal

It is about annoying that you cannot view PM's or chat when downloading a map/mod, would it be possible to make those message boxes non modal so that you can switch window?

Perhaps I'm jaded with my University connection, but aren't maps really small and really fast downloads?

How long does it take you to download a map/mod? (And not like a huge full mod like blackops.)

Depends on the Map/Mod and connection..

It would also be nice if those messages wont block in general, for example after a disconnect you can't read pm's.. if it is a small thing it would be great if it gets changed.

I know it depends on these things XD.

Just asking for a ball park. Cause it literally takes seconds for me to download pretty much anything. New patches take less than a minute if they are big.

I wouldn't have time to type during the download is my point really.

So I was wondering how big of a problem this actually is for others (you namely) before judging the importance of such features.

For people with shitty connections, I know NZ and AU people don't have great internet, it can be quite annoying.

I think it has a reason why it is modal ...
e.g. You cannot close faf ...
