Dont know if but or suggestion, but probably only tolerate bug:

Why on radar can be see transport, as one gray icon with 6 others air icons, transport is only one icon, and the other icons are not air, and are in that one. This is unjust intel, who can easy recognite thta transport is coming, when it easyli can be only scout, (interceptor,asf, strat CZAR or big flying spagethy monster).
Same like on carrier isnt see how many plane is in. Its not reason for the same on transport. Radar cant recognize whith air units it is, dont make transport exemption.

That make transport harder to use. and on some situation nearly impossible

Similar problem is with building after teching. And on this point you dont need radar.

When someone is teching building it will be see as more dark color, same like destroying building. When i know i dont destroy it im sure he tech that building. Its pure bug, and unfounded intel.

But it not must be on radar. I dont scout it and stile signature change. Thats no reason take me this information.

And what is a reason for change icon when it is on radar? radar dont know what building it is, when i dont scout it. Its only one icon for building why it can know that this building change, when it has only one icon. I dont need scout and know how many T2 mexes oponent had, or when he swap on T2 factory.

from what i can understand, ithilis is talking of the way a transport looks like on a radar - like ~7 air units flying in perfect formation very close to each other

this makes the transport blindingly obvious to spot, even if it is carrying only one unit, as its pretty much impossible to have air units fly so close to each other in formation

i agree that this makes the transport less useable, as people can tell scouts from drops without even checking the unit, as soon as it appears on the radar, you can see if its a transport or not.

this is not a bug as such, but it is quite annoying if you're the one doing the dropping

however, i'm not sure that fixing this would make the game better, i think some people much more experienced than me should tell us whether its good to be able to tell a transport from other things or not.

I actually think this is intended behavior. Also, for experienced players a transport is already pretty obvious due to it's speed, so it's a balancing feature with less experienced players :D

I like this idea, speed could be also a bomber. Even a good player can be hit times more by transport if it is not shown as several units. Maybe it is a fully loaded t2 transport and the enemy thinks just a few t1 ASF will clear it since it could be a useless t1 bomber or a not so damaging single t2 bomber as well.

It prevents the same effect like sometimes t3 bombers have. On seton it is fun sometimes to send a single t3 bomber and bomber a few mexes since nobody expects it to be a bomber when a single not protected unit is flying arround somewhere in nowhere. Till enemy reacts sometimes a few mass spots are destroyed and lots of time is lost. The same could be with transport maybe even more harmful.

Transported units showing up is certainly an intended feature, not a bug. It's not at all the same situation as a carrier with units inside, because in a carrier, the units are inside. With transports they units aren't inside, they are obviously hanging off, can be damaged by incidental fire, often retain their special abilities, etc. It makes perfect sense that radar would detect units on a transport, since they obviously would change the radar signature of said transport.

Sure, it often makes transports harder to use, but so what? It also makes it easier to distract your opponent with them, because while your opponent can't tell from radar whether a transport has your entire attack force on it or a bunch of disposable LABs, they do know that a good drop is devastating enough that they're forced to react. Try using these characteristics to your advantage!


As far as the upgrading building issue, that's been under discussion for a long time. I'm pretty sure no solution has been found yet?

Why transport is exemtion, is absolutly no reason for that. Its bug, like was here many others bug, who are mostly fixed. Same like darker icon on teching building, its absoluthly no reason for that. Engin recognise that building what was on that place, now isnt, so it take desroyed icon on map. Thats a reason why it is like it is. Its best intel for zero effort.
