Aeon Navy suggestion rebalance thingy

Postby Kalvirox » 14 Nov 2014, 20:11

So.. there is this..
https://github.com/FAForever/fa#tentati ... patch-3636
Scroll to the bit that says:
"Attempt to fix Aeon T1 Frigate, T2 Destroyer, and Seraphim T3 Subhunter weapon bones to improve fire reliability"

Ok so this IS a bug.. but fixing it will affect balance.. T3 subhunter buff is good since some people think they were overly nerfed but w/e.. t1 aeon frigate buff is good because it kinda is..

Aeon destroyers however..

What are your thoughts on this.. I think they are strong already and that if you want to buff them more "make their firing more reliable" you would need to nerf their damage to counteract this..

Opinions please!

How it can broke balance?
it is balanced with shot that dont miss more as half of time.

http://content.faforever.com/faf/unitsD ... 01,XSS0201
when you compare it with salem, because have same range where is
salem weaker:
- salem have 1450 hp less,
- salen have 80dps against submarine less
salem stronger:
- can go on land
- it 5 time more harder to micro against salem as against exodus
- less overkill
- have 50dps more against ships
- ocur much more easy with stealt as exodus with shield.

7500(exodus hp):330(salem pure dps) = 22,7sec
6050(salem hp): 287(exodus pure dps) =21 sec
its nearly same, but exodus much more time miss....
Exodus is fine but on moment when enemy start micro army its very frustrating look how its unacurate and ussles.

think that this change is fine and from category must be.

What i dont understand is why continental is supost to have imunity to nuke ?

So we need to buff other things, I mean Depth Charges are good againts subs, so the Obivilion Cannon for example could be buffed

salem can't shoot back
i personnaly feels easier to micro against cybran destroyer than against aeon destro.

the only thing is stealth is really good, but T3 sonar does counter it pretty well.
depth charge completely denied the possibility of a sub killer transition.
when opponent start spaming mobile shield with their destro it's really pain in the ass.

Play in this tournament in a few weeks time:

/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=8880

It seems to have dropped out of the Tournaments tab for some reason, but this should help show if this makes the Exodus OP. IMO so long as it's still easy to dodge in small numbers to counter their incredibly volley damage, it remains balanced, if it suddenly hits everything it might become OP. I assume this is just fixing the occasional retarded overshot of unmicroed or stationary units (other than torp launchers and sonar which are being fixed elsewhere) so it should be cool.

The reason of exodus missing targets is low speed projectile with slow reload, which (as i understood) is not gonna be changed. So i don't think it will affect balance a lot. I'm pretty sure you will still be able to troll exodus with couple coopers, dodging shots and killing torps with superior torp defence.
